AboutThe Role
Altabank, Division of Glacier Bank, is hiring a Full‑Time Consumer Loan Assistant for our American Fork branch. The position involves assisting in facilitating the loan process by interacting with customers, lending partners, and the bank loan team in an efficient, professional, and helpful manner.
Responsibilities- Assist in the origination, processing, closing, and post‑closing of consumer loans.
- Provide administrative functions to support the loan officer and team.
- Work within the consumer loan origination tool to enter loan applications.
- Communicate with customers and prospects to reduce friction in the loan production and portfolio management processes.
- Assist in collecting, filing, and organizing customer financials and information.
- Interact with clients by e‑mail and telephone.
- Work with other departments in the bank to help with loan production, documentation, and portfolio management.
- Compose letters and memoranda, editing written communications.
- Collect and prepare information for use in discussions and meetings with internal and external loan clients.
- Take meeting minutes in loan team meetings.
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
- Complete required bank training courses within assigned time frames and, if needed, seek clarification or additional training from a supervisor.

- Attend and participate in meetings as required.
- Ensure regular and predictable attendance to accomplish in‑person contact with customers.
- Complete other duties as assigned.

- One to two years of similar or related experience.
- High school education or GED.
- Strong computer skills in Word processing and Excel spreadsheets.
- Reasonable understanding of a bank and the loan process.
- High interpersonal skills, strong verbal communication, and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Ability to interact calmly and professionally with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds at various levels within and outside the organization.
- Regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
- Adaptability to change through time management, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

Physical DemandsEmployees must sit, use hands in repetitive motions, talk, and hear. They may occasionally stand, walk, lift, or reach. They should operate routine office equipment and may need to work extended hours or travel off‑site. Lifting and vision requirements include routine computer work and visual inspection of small parts or machines.
Compensation & BenefitsStarting salary is dependent on relevant experience and may vary by location.
