About The Role
Altabank, Division of Glacier Bank, is hiring an Assistant Retail Branch Manager based out of the American Fork branch.
Work closely with the operations manager to oversee daily operations of the branch. Supervise the delivery of service to customers through Relationship Bankers and Tellers. Identify customer needs while maintaining existing and developing new client relationships. Ensure the branch is in compliance with all regulations, with primary responsibility for identifying and communicating deposit related compliance requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Direct and monitor relationship banker and teller operations to ensure they meet organizational goals. Monitor product delivery quality and take action to resolve problems. Handle customer problems and complaints, help customers with special needs or requests. Escalate issues to Branch Operations Manager as appropriate.
- Ensure the organization follows all regulations, policy and procedure; responsible for compliance issues associated with deposit programs.
- Identify and take action to improve the department’s operating methods and procedures.
- Open and close the branch. Maintain and stay abreast of security policies and procedures.
- Create positive solutions for customer inquiries through cross‑selling opportunities.
- Assist the Operations Manager in managing direct reports to maximize productivity, efficiency, and the potential of the human assets of the company, including: hiring, scheduling, directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, training, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies and work rules. Appraise performance and provide recommendations for staff compensation, promotion, and termination as appropriate.
- Provide backup for all Operations Manager duties when necessary.
- Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
- Complete required bank training courses within assigned time frame(s). It is the individual learner’s responsibility to ensure that they understand the information given to them in each training. If the learner does not understand the information given, they need to reach out to their supervisor for further clarification or additional training.
- Adhere to Altabank Core Values.
- Keep management appropriately informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
- Participate in community service and bank‑sponsored activities that serve and support the mission and values of Altabank.
- Provide superior internal and external customer service: demonstrate self‑governance, courtesy and respect toward external customers as well as internal customers (all organization personnel).
- Represent Altabank in a professional manner which includes a professional image, confidentiality, a positive “can‑do” attitude, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility and adaptability in meeting bank and customer needs. Keep work area tidy and maintain customer privacy. Attend and participate in meetings as required.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance to accomplish, among other things, in‑person contact with customers.

About You QUALIFICATIONS- Two to five years of similar or related experience.
- A two‑year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have in‑depth understanding of and ability to interpret regulations affecting deposit programs within the bank.
- Capacity to work with multiple computer and software systems.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Able to mentor and lead; need strong leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Employee must be capable of interacting calmly and professionally with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds at various levels within and outside of the organization.
- Employee must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
