Job SummaryThe primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of production rooms, equipment, trays, trolleys, and dryers in a food manufacturing environment. This includes adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and meeting the stringent cleaning requirements set forth by the Quality Assurance and Sanitation Departments, as well as third‑party inspections.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Clean and sanitize production rooms, equipment, trays, trolleys, and dryers.
- Follow standard work instructions.
- Follow specific SOPs to complete room and equipment cleaning.
- Pass cleaning tests and fulfill all cleaning requirements mandated by the Quality Assurance Department, Sanitation Department, and third‑party inspections.
- Utilize knowledge and experience with chemicals used for cleaning food equipment, ensuring proper usage and adherence to instructions.
- Mix and dilute chemicals accurately to the intended mixing ratio, using a titration kit to test chemical strength.
- Work in accordance with SQF (Safe Quality Food), PCQI, or HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) rules and regulations.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Comply with the Environmental Health Safety & Security (EHS&S) policies and applicable regulatory and company EHS&S rules and expectations.
- Report conditions or practices that are unsafe or could adversely impact the environment.
- Attend scheduled EHS&S training program.
- Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed EHS&S goals and plans.
- Recommend improved EHS&S practices.
- Practice safe work habits and follow general safety procedures such as proper lifting and bending, ergonomics, proper use of equipment, and use of personal protection equipment (PPE).
- Adhere to lockout procedures when the equipment is being cleaned or maintained.
- Place high priority on food safety, quality, and sanitation by understanding and executing Thrive Freeze Dry’s policies and procedures.
- Hold self and others accountable to food safety, quality, and sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any incident, observation, or opportunity to leadership.
- Adhere to and ensure Product Safety and Quality standards are followed.
- Adhere to GMP requirements regarding food contact packaging.
- Comply with Thrive’s food safety, product defense standards, and quality objectives to meet all SQF system requirements.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3‑month experience in a related field, quality inspection, or manufacturing environment.
- Basic math proficiency.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Physical and mental capacity to perform job duties.
- Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; frequent fine finger dexterity.
- 50% or more sitting; 50% or more standing and walking.
- Job performed under occasional temperature variations and in a food manufacturing environment.
- Unrestricted visual and auditory abilities required for safety.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
