Job Title: Sanitation Team Member
Department: Operations
Reports to: Sanitation Manager
Location: American Fork, Utah
Shift: Monday – Wednesday alternating every other Sunday 6:00am-6:00pm
Job Summary: The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of production rooms, equipment, trays, trolleys, and dryers in a food manufacturing environment. This includes adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and meeting the stringent cleaning requirements set forth by the Quality Assurance and Sanitation Departments, as well as third‑party inspections.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Clean and sanitize production rooms, equipment, trays, trolleys, and dryers.
- Follow standard work instructions.
- Follow specific SOPs to complete room and equipment cleaning.
- Pass cleaning tests and fulfill all cleaning requirements mandated by the Quality Assurance Department, Sanitation Department, and third‑party inspections.
- Utilize knowledge and experience with chemicals used for cleaning food equipment, ensuring proper usage and adherence to instructions.
- Mix and dilute chemicals accurately to the intended mixing ratio, using a titration kit to test chemical strength.
- Work in accordance with SQF (Safe Quality Food), PCQI, or HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) rules and regulations.
- Must maintain regular and consistent attendance.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Comply with the Environmental Health Safety & Security (EHS&S) policies and applicable regulatory and company EHS&S rules and requirements.
- Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.
- Attend scheduled EHS&S training program.
- Actively support the organization's efforts to meet or exceed EHS&S goals and plans.
- Recommend improved EHS&S practices.
- Practice safe work habits and follow general safety procedures such as proper lifting and bending, ergonomics, proper use of equipment and use of personal protection equipment (PPE).
- Adhere to and ensure lockout procedures are followed any time the equipment is being cleaned or maintained.
- Place high priority on food safety, quality, and sanitation by understanding and executing Thrive Freeze Dry's food safety, quality, and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Hold self and others accountable to Thrive Freeze Dry food safety, quality, & sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety or quality incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates.
- Adhere to and ensure Product Safety and Quality standards are followed.
- Adhere to and ensure GMP's regarding food contact packaging as it pertains to the employee.
- Adhere to and ensure Thrive's food safety, product defense standards and quality objectives complies with all SQF system requirements.

- High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3‑month experience in a related field, quality inspection or manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to perform basic math.
- Must be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate orally or in written form effectively with co‑workers and departments, including the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
