Overview
Tamarack Foods is looking to hire a full-time Maintenance Supervisor for second shift. The role is in a family-like environment and a mechanically-inclined self-starter will thrive.
Second shift will be approximately 11AM-7PM.
General Responsibilities- Assist in departmental hiring, dismissal, coaching, evaluating, training, and safety of 15 technicians across multiple shifts.
- Maintain and improve the physical plant and machinery to ensure minimal unscheduled downtime.
- Ensure the plant meets GMP, HACCP, USDA and regulatory standards while safeguarding employees, raw materials and product quality.
- Coordinate with Parts Manager to assure adequate parts inventory.
- Assure the safety of employees, equipment, facility, environment, and quality of finished product.
- Direct maintenance and environmental teams to run lines as scheduled, achieving throughput targets while maintaining product quality parameters and regulatory compliance.
- Understand requirements and procedures for proper operation and maintenance and advise production on machine use and maintenance.
- Create preventative maintenance schedules to keep all machines properly maintained and operating as designed.
- Maintain spare parts inventory to minimize downtime and costs within budgeted expenditure levels.
- Conduct inspections and record keeping of SQF, HAACP, USDA, DEQ, EPA and other state and federal regulatory requirements.
- Determine and suggest methods, procedures, and machines to improve line performance and support required capabilities.
- Stand on concrete for up to 8 hours, bend and stoop and lift up to 75 pounds.
- Follow, lead by example, and ensure Quality, Production, Safety, GMP and Regulatory policies are adhered to.
- Able to work overtime and weekend hours required. Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, facility management or similar work experience with at least 1 year supervisory role.
- Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, ability to read blueprints & schematics.
- Thorough knowledge of food processing technology and GMP's.
