American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg (Acute Care) night shift position requiring a GA or compact RN license and at least 1 year of hospital med/surg experience.

• Acute Care Med/Surg unit with 36 beds in a hospital setting
• Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, ESRD, pneumonia, renal failure, sickle cell crisis, and post-surgical patients (orthopedic and bariatric)
• RN/LPN to patient ratio of 6:1 and CNA ratio of 12:1
• Telemetry monitoring used, though nurses are not required to read strips
• Uses MEDITECH EMR
• Hospitalist in-house 24/7 and respiratory therapy available 24/7
• PICC team available for consult as needed, no dedicated IV team
• 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a)
• Every other weekend required
• Occasional floating required
• Charge nurse and nurse aide support available on the unit

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
• Current BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certification required
• ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of hospital med/surg experience required
• Driver's license required for consideration

• Provide direct patient care in a 36-bed Med/Surg unit
• Complete 3 shifts of floor-specific orientation
• Dress code requires white tops with hunter green pants
• Holiday coverage required
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for placement
• Not eligible if previously employed by the facility within the last 12 months
