Chapter Lead DWH Data Engineering

Location:

Amersfoort, Netherlands
Working model:  Hybrid – typically 1-2 days per week in the office

What you’ll do
As Chapter Lead, you will combine your technical expertise with coaching and people responsibilities.

Technical

Work hands-on within a multidisciplinary Dev Ops team.

Act as a specialist in Data Engineering / Data Warehousing.

Contribute to technical solutions and help maintain high engineering standards.

Support and guide developers in improving technical craftsmanship.

Share knowledge and stay up to date with developments in Data Engineering and related technologies.

Help shape the technical vision, standards and way of working within the chapter.

Leadership & coaching

Coach and support chapter members in their personal and professional development.

Help developers identify opportunities to improve their skills and craftsmanship.

Support performance, growth and career development.

Create an environment where people can learn, collaborate and perform at their best.

Encourage knowledge sharing across the chapter through collaboration, communities and events.

Work closely with the IT Lead and other Chapter Leads as the Chapter Lead role continues to develop.

People & HR

Take responsibility for HR-related processes such as recruitment, onboarding and performance cycles.

Provide clear, constructive feedback to chapter members.

Build strong relationships with team members and stakeholders.

Contribute to creating a healthy, inclusive and high-performing culture.

Your background
We are looking for a senior technical professional who is ready to take the next step towards leadership.

You bring:

Strong experience in  Data Engineering, Data Warehousing or a closely related technical domain .

Hands-on experience with a relevant part of the Microsoft BI / Data Engineering stack.

Experience working in a  Dev Ops and/or Agile environment .

A genuine interest in coaching, mentoring and developing other professionals.

The ability to provide constructive feedback and have open, honest conversations.

Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

A proactive mindset and a focus on continuous improvement.

The ambition to develop further as a people leader.

A calm, approachable and thoughtful communication style that works well within a technical team.

Technical expertise

Data Warehouse concepts

Kimball methodology

You do not need to be an expert in every technology listed. Strong expertise in the core DWH/Data Engineering domain combined with the ability to learn and guide others is more important.
