Foreign Language Assistant; Spanish

Overview

For September 2026, we are seeking to appoint a Spanish Language Assistant to support the learning and teaching of Spanish at Dr Challoner’s Grammar School. This role is offered as a one-year fixed-term contract from September 2026 to August 2027.

Working independently with small groups of senior students to develop their spoken Spanish and oral competency, and occasionally with larger groups or whole classes of junior students. Preparing resources and delivering oral lessons and assessments, as well as planning and teaching sequences of lessons, while liaising closely with the class teacher.

Proficient Spanish speaker with the ability to prepare and effectively deliver lessons that meet curriculum requirements. Excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to relate well to young people, and effective teamwork. Some experience of working in an environment providing support for young people; previous school experience desirable but not essential.
