Finance Manager
Location:
Amersham
Salary: £35,000-£40,000 depending on experience and qualifications
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm
Contract:

Office-based initially, with hybrid working opportunities following probation
We're looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join a growing specialist business providing billing and financial management services to medical professionals.
This is a varied, hands‑on role covering management accounts, cashflow, invoicing, credit control, payroll support and financial reporting. You'll work closely with the CFO and wider management team while overseeing the day‑to‑day finance function.
Key Responsibilities of the Finance Manager- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and KPI information.
- Maintain and reconcile company bank accounts and financial systems.
- Manage accounts receivable, invoicing and outstanding debtor balances.
- Investigate payment discrepancies and respond to client billing queries.
- Maintain rolling cashflow forecasts and monitor working capital.
- Prepare monthly financial reports for medical consultant clients.
- Calculate and reconcile consultant payments, fees, deductions and adjustments.
- Manage supplier invoices, expenses, payment runs and banking transactions.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and year‑end account preparation.
- Work with HR and external providers to support monthly payroll.
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
- Maintain strong financial controls and accurate financial records.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting and automation.
- At least three years' experience within finance, accounting or management accounting.
- Experience preparing management accounts and financial reports.
- Strong experience with reconciliations, accounts receivable and cashflow reporting.
- Experience working with external accountants and payroll providers.
- Degree‑level qualification in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related subject.
- Experience using Xero or a similar accounting system.
- An ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA or equivalent qualification, either completed or part‑qualified, would be advantageous.
- Salary of £35,000-£40,000.
