The job role is for a Bank Kitchen Assistant at a care home operated by Agincare Homes Holdings in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the chef in creating healthy and balanced meals and snacks, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, and providing support and engagement to the residents.

Main duties of the job

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the chef in the preparation and serving of meals and snacks, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, and working as part of a team to provide a positive experience for the residents. You will need previous experience in a catering environment, an understanding of food safety and COSHH regulations, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

What is required from you?

  • A minimum of 12 months on your right to work in the UK
  • Previous experience in a kitchen setting is essential.

A day in the life of a Kitchen Assistant

  • Support the chef to create healthy/balanced meals and snacks, and ensuring a good understanding of various dietary requirements and allergens
  • Ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained in the kitchen area, with good levels of hygiene particularly in line with COSHH regulations and health and safety protocols.
  • Work as a team player, but have the ability to lone work when needed, effectively managing your time.
  • Offer support, communication and engagement to the residents.

About You

You don't have to have worked in care before, a previous role in a different catering environment is great for someone willing to learn. We'd like you to have some prior knowledge of food safety and COSHH. You will be a caring, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who is able to show empathy to the needs of others.
