About the Role:

We are seeking dedicated and skilled Social Workers to join our Children’s Services teams across Buckinghamshire. As an allocated key worker, you will play a vital role in delivering statutory social work services throughout a child or young person’s journey, ensuring they receive the right support, protection, and care at the right time.

You will undertake assessment, planning, intervention/support and review responsibilities, working within established thresholds and statutory guidelines to promote the safety, wellbeing and improved outcomes of children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver targeted and specialist social work services to children and young people requiring support, protection or care.
  • Complete statutory assessments in line with local thresholds to identify needs, risks and parenting capacity.
  • Promote the safety, wellbeing, rights and positive outcomes of children and young people. Build effective relationships with children and young people to understand their views and lived experiences.
  • Work collaboratively with parents/carers using a strengths-based, relationship-focused approach.
  • Engage and coordinate with multi-disciplinary and multi-agency partners. Develop and implement support, protection, care and pathway plans that meet assessed needs.
  • Ensure plans are commissioned and resourced appropriately, offering value for money. Work in line with legislation, statutory guidance, and organisational policies.
  • Liaise with Legal Services and represent the Local Authority in court when required.
  • Monitor and review plans to ensure they remain effective and outcome-focused.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case records on electronic systems.
  • Identify unmet needs and elevate concerns or risks in line with procedures.
  • Participate in supervision, appraisal and continual professional development. Contribute to team duties and provide cover for colleagues when needed.
