Ames Community School District is seeking Substitute Educational Associates for the 2025-26 school year. Enjoy a flexible schedule – work when and where you want: preschool, elementary, or secondary grades. These are on‑call, part‑time substitute positions.

• Supports teachers in meeting the needs of students in all classrooms, including special education.
• Supports academic instruction with small groups of students.
• Supervises students during other components of the school day.
• Remains at school the entire school day, unless otherwise instructed or listed in an assigned position.
• Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintains reasonable rules of conduct which encourage self‑discipline and responsibility.
• Creates a sense of belonging and a welcoming environment for all students.

• Ability to relate effectively to children with different academic and behavioral needs.
• Must complete the required training within 30 days of being activated as a substitute in the substitute system.

$14.45 for general education associates, $16.75 for preschool or special education associates, $22.75 for AMES Center associates.
