The Impact You’ll Make

Danfoss has an opening for a Weekend Warrior Industrial Maintenance Technician, which provides support to the Maintenance Technician Lead in installing, repairing and maintaining production equipment throughout the plant.

In addition to regularly interacting with colleagues in the Maintenance Department, this position will regularly interact with various departments within the plant, while maintaining or troubleshooting equipment including:

  • Manufacturing Engineers
  • Process Engineers and Quality Engineers
  • Machining and Technical personnel as appropriate

The hours for this position are Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6:00 pm - 6:00 am, with the potential for overtime.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical systems to the faulty component.
  • Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using volt meter, Megger and other test equipment.
  • Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.
  • Repair and Maintain Fanuc/ABB Robotics and CNC Machines, including Mazak/Makino Machining Centers.
  • Replace faulty modules and field components.
  • Install and maintain hydraulic circuits in Industrial equipment, including hoses, relief valves, proportional valves and other hydraulic components.
  • Repair and maintain the operating condition of all industrial production equipment, including Test Stands and devices used to move, lift or convey product.
  • Automation troubleshooting to include; A/C and DC Motors, Motor Starters and VFDs.
  • Repair Inventory and Quality Control Systems such as Visual recognition, RF  dot matrix printer hardware.
  • Follow all Safety Rules, including PPE, NFPA-70, NEC and OSHA.
What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
  • Two (2) years hands‑on experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical, hydraulic and electrical or electronic systems a plus but not required.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic/ hydraulic drawings, schematics and engineering blueprints to determine problem root causes and implement corrective action a plus but not required.
  • Ability to read precision measuring instruments such as Micrometers, Calipers, Indicators, Levels, and Lasers a plus.
  • Strong Computer skills are a plus.
  • Familiar with field buses (Profinet/Profibus/EIP/Device Net) to include extended I/O troubleshooting.
  • Team player that’s able to work overtime as needed and willing to learn.
Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time; use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

While performing the duties of this job the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee has the potential to be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is at a level the company recommends hearing protection. The employee must be physically able to wear appropriate PPE.
