Job Overview
Caseworker - Supported Community Living (SCL) at Lutheran Services in Iowa. Hourly part‑time (10-23 hrs/week) in Ames & surrounding areas (Story, Boone, Marshall, Hardin counties). Focus on supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or chronic mental health conditions to learn independent living skills. Work 1:1 and develop Individualized Service Plans.
What You'll Do- Provide support, assistance, and instruction in independent living skills such as money management, socialization, cooking, and personal hygiene.
- Encourage participation in community activities and apply outcome‑based performance measures.
- Develop Individualized Service Plans reflecting personal goals.
- Work flexible schedules; primarily Monday‑Friday, mix of day, after‑school, evening hours.
- Potential to increase hours as availability grows.
Qualified candidates will have one of the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in human services, education, or related field with one year of related experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in a non‑human services field and 1 year human services experience.
- AA Degree with 2 years of human services experience.
- High school diploma/GED with 4 years of human services experience.
Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, good driving record, and ability to pass extensive background checks, including Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry, and criminal history.
