Your Responsibilities

As a Part-Time Student Software Engineering for JD Financial located in Ames, IA you will:

• Be part of a team working for John Deere Information Security, creating software and automations that support the risk management processes
• Design, build, test, deploy, and operate innovative applications/solutions
• Have an opportunity to improve your engineering skills with API's, TDD, Cloud, Containerization, Python, React/JavaScript, Git, and other languages through developing applications
• Collaborate closely with other software engineers on the team

What Skills You Need

• Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a Technology related discipline; others may apply
• Must be registered as a full-time student at a U.S/local accredited university/college
• Graduation date of Spring 2028 or later
• Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
• Available to work 14-20 hours/week during the academic year
• Available to work 30-40 hours/week during the summer semester
• Experience in at least one programming language:
  Python, Java, Java script
• Must be able to commute to work at ISU Research Park (available on the bus route) on a daily basis year-round

• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills

$15 - $40 hourly based on published rates for business function and education level.
