The Ames High School coaching staff is seeking three Track Assistant coaches for the 2026 spring season.

2-3 hours per day (4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.) Monday‑Friday with various nights and weekends during the season.

• Supports Head Track Coach while instructing athletes about the fundamentals of track.
• Attends all practices and has the ability to coach at an individual, small group, and team level.
• Models sports‑like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct toward players, officials, and spectators.
• Communicates effectively with coaching staff, student‑athletes, parents, and school administration.
• Participates in special events to include banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies.
• Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
• Abides by strict confidentiality at all times.

• A current Iowa Department of Education coaching authorization.
• Concussion certification.
• Experience coaching track at the high school level preferred.

• Create a sense of belonging and welcoming environment for all athletes, families, and staff.
• Attend work on a consistent and punctual basis.

$3,890 season stipend
