Pastoral Mentor / Teaching Assistant – Amesbury

Luma Education Recruitment is looking for a Pastoral Mentor / Teaching Assistant to support a school in the Amesbury area of Wiltshire.

This role would suit someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people, particularly those who may need additional encouragement with their confidence, behaviour, emotional wellbeing and engagement with education.

Working alongside teaching and pastoral staff, you will provide a combination of classroom, learning and pastoral support, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and develop positive relationships within the school environment.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Providing one-to-one and small-group pastoral and learning support
  • Supporting pupils who may require additional emotional, social or behavioural support
  • Helping pupils engage positively with lessons and school activities
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, resilience and independence
  • Supporting positive behaviour and helping pupils manage challenges appropriately
  • Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff to identify and respond to individual needs
  • Supporting pupils during lessons, breaks and other parts of the school day
  • Encouraging positive attitudes towards learning and personal development
  • Helping create a calm, safe and supportive school environment
  • Supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning and make progress
