As a Senior Systems Engineer
- Aerospace, you will provide technical leadership across complex aerospace programmes, helping to deliver innovative solutions that enhance the capability, safety and effectiveness of current and future air systems.
Day-to-day, you'll lead and support systems engineering activities across a diverse portfolio of military, civil and uncrewed aircraft programmes. Working closely with customers, project managers and multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will support activities spanning requirements management, systems integration, test and evaluation, certification and technical governance.
Your responsibilities will include:- Leading multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions
- Engaging with customers to understand, analyse and decompose requirements
- Coordinating technical activities across specialist engineering disciplines
- Developing and delivering Technical Delivery Plans
- Managing technical risks and supporting engineering governance activities
- Supporting bid and business development activities through technical solution generation
- Aerospace:
- Strong experience applying Systems Engineering principles across the engineering lifecycle
- Experience leading technical teams and delivering complex engineering programmes
- Knowledge of military and/or civil aircraft platforms and subsystems
- Experience of systems integration, aircraft modification, test and evaluation activities
- Understanding of aircraft certification, airworthiness and systems design
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and customer engagement skills
- Aerospace:
- Relevant Engineering degree or aerospace-related qualification to HND level or above, supported by relevant technical training

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Boscombe Down site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.
Boscombe DownMOD Boscombe Down is a unique operational site featuring the longest military runway in the UK. Primarily focusing on providing testing, evaluation and support services for aviation and aerospace systems. Renowned for its extensive flight testing capabilities, the site plays a vital role in the UK's aviation defence, contributing to the development, testing and airworthiness of military aircraft, enhancing operational readiness and effectiveness.
Please note that all applicants for this role must be eligible for SC clearance, as a minimum.
