Housing Manager

We are recruiting on behalf of agrowing supported housing organisation in Wiltshirethat provides accommodation and support toex-military veterans, helping to reduce homelessness and support residents as they transition back into civilian life.

The organisation currently operates a44-unit supported housing schemeand has ambitious plans to expand its services. They are now looking for an experienced

Supported Housing Managerto take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the scheme and lead the on-site team.

• Take overall day-to-day responsibility for the
  44-unit supported housing scheme.
• Manage and support the on-site team, including
  
  Housing Support Workers, administration staff and a caretaker.
• Provide effective leadership, guidance and supervision to the team.
• Oversee the delivery ofsupported housing and intensive housing management.
• Ensure effective processes are in place for resident sign-ups, move-ins, welfare checks, risk assessments and tenancy management.
• Oversee housing administration, records, compliance and case management.
• Ensure residents receive appropriate support with Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and wider welfare matters.
• Monitor rent, tenancy and housing management issues and ensure these are dealt with appropriately.
• Ensure the service operates in line with safeguarding, health and safety, compliance and organisational procedures.
• Liaise with local authorities, housing teams, benefits departments and external agencies.
• Develop and improve systems and processes across the supported housing service.
• Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and contribute to the organisation'sexpansion plans.
• Maintain high standards across the scheme and ensure issues are identified and resolved promptly.

• Previous experience managing asupported housing, supported accommodation or housing service.
• Experience managing or supervising asmall multidisciplinary team.
• Strong understanding ofsupported housing and intensive housing management.
• Good knowledge of Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and the wider benefits system.
• Experience managinghousing administration, tenancy processes and compliance.
• Understanding oftenancy sustainment, safeguarding, risk management and resident welfare.
• Experience working within ahousing association, local authority, homelessness service or supported housing provider.
• Strong leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Confident managing staff, residents and external stakeholders.
• Ability to take ownership of the day-to-day running of a housing service.
• Empathetic, resilient and professional, with the ability to manage challenging situations.
• Experience supporting veterans or ex-military personnel would be advantageous.
• A proactive approach with the ability to help develop and grow the service.
