About the position
DutiesAs Regional Manager, Atlantic, you will provide strategic leadership and serve as the regional voice when engaging with First Nations, federal departments and agencies, provincial partners, and industry stakeholders. This role places you at the centre of decision‑making that supports legal surveys on Canada Lands and enables effective collaboration across this role, you will:
• Provide expert surveying advice, responding to inquiries from the public, professional surveyors, and government partners
• Review and issue specific survey instructions that support legal surveys on Canada Lands
• Support reconciliation efforts by engaging with First Nations and integrating respectful, collaborative approaches into surveying and land management activities on Canada Lands.
• Negotiate and oversee service agreements with federal partners for mapping and surveying services
• Lead and manage people and budgets, ensuring effective delivery of regional operations
You will demonstrate hands‑on leadership by working on site four days per week at the Atlantic Regional Office, with a dedicated talented team of professional land surveyors and technologists.

Intent of the process
The immediate need is to fill one (1) indeterminate (permanent) position at the EN-SUR-04 group and level located at 40 Havelock Street, Amherst, Nova Scotia.
A pool of qualified candidates will not be established from this process.

Conditions of employment
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT► A valid Reliability Status (Security Clearance)
► Must have a valid driver’s licence in Canada.
► Must obtain a medical clearance in accordance with Treasury Board Occupational Health Evaluation Standards for field work.
Operational Requirements
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS► Willing and able to travel within Canada, including travel by car, rail and air.
► Willing and able to work overtime as required and to adopt flexible work hours as per operational.
► Willing and able to perform field work as required.
You need (essential for the job)
Your application must clearly explain how you meet the followingEXPERIENCE
► Approximately three years of experience providing boundary or cadastral advice as a licensed surveyor.
► Experience in managing human and financial resources.

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
► A licence with the Association of Canada Lands Surveyors as a Canada Lands Surveyor.📢
NOTE:
At time of application, the candidate must demonstrate they have the right to practice as a land surveyor in a province and being eligible to obtain a Canada Lands Surveyor's commission AND a licence to practice issued by the Association of Canada Lands Surveyors at the time of appointment.
