The Ice Crew member assists with game day ice operations:
Performs snow cleanup during TV timeouts for UMass Hockey games at the Mullins Center. Assist with goal net handling and installation. Assist with ice repairs as directed by Game Day Operations Supervisor. Ice Crew members must be proficient ice skaters.

This position is based at our Mullins Center. The William

D. Mullins Memorial Center, also known as the Mullins Center, is a 9,493‑seat multi‑purpose arena (10,500 for 360 concerts), located on the campus of the University of Massachusetts, in Amherst, Massachusetts. The Mullins Center is the home of UMass Minutemen men's basketball, women's basketball, and men's ice hockey. In addition, the venue hosts numerous concerts, family shows, theater shows, and commencements annually.

Located adjacent to the Mullins Center is the Mullins Community Ice Rink, which is open for public skating and racquetball.

• Assist with goal net handling and installation.
• Performs snow cleanup during timeouts for UMass hockey games
• Ensures a clean and safe ice surface for UMass hockey games
• Assist with ice repairs
• Acts as representative for the Mullins Center to the general public, must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of game day protocols and procedures
• Deals knowledgably, pleasantly and professionally with the other crew
• Responsible for keeping game running smoothly and on time
• Arrives early and stays late to assist with game prep and breakdown
• Performs other duties as requested by supervisors or management
• Must have an above average ice skating ability - experienced hockey players and figure skaters preferred
• Must be extremely punctual. Must be able to follow procedures and work under pressure
• Must be able move very quickly to perform snow removal in the small time windows during breaks
• Must be constantly alert and ready to move at a seconds notice
• Must be confortable in a loud and crowded environment
• Ideally understands general rules of the sport of ice hockey

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be 18 or over
• Above average skating ability
