Full-Time | Maternity Cover (September 2026 – January 2027)

Teacher Active is currently recruiting a Welsh-Speaking Geography Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Carmarthenshire on a full-time maternity cover contract, commencing in September 2026.

The Role

Teach Geography across the full secondary age range
Deliver engaging lessons to GCSE classes, with the opportunity to teach A-Level for suitably qualified candidates
Create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment
Support pupils to achieve their full academic potential
Plan, prepare, and assess high-quality lessons in line with the Curriculum for Wales
Contribute positively to the wider life of the school

Requirements

✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
✅ Specialism in Geography or experience teaching Geography
✅ Fluent Welsh speaker (essential)
✅ Experience teaching Geography at secondary level
✅ Ability to teach GCSE, with A-Level experience desirable
✅ Excellent classroom management and communication skills
✅ Passion for education and pupil achievement
✅ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
