Youth Support Worker

Ammanford | Full Time | Starting September

Looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference every single day?

We're recruiting a Youth Support Worker to join a welcoming primary school in Ammanford, starting this September.

Monday - Friday
8:30am - 3:30pm
£92.63 per day

About the Role

You'll be supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them feel safe, understood and ready to learn. Every day is different, but your patience, encouragement and ability to build positive relationships will have a lasting impact on the lives of young people.

The school is passionate about creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child is valued. They believe in kindness, respect, resilience and creating positive relationships where every learner feels supported to reach their full potential.

What Could a Typical Day Look Like?
  • Welcoming pupils into school and helping them settle into the day
  • Supporting children to regulate their emotions and feel ready to learn
  • Working alongside the class teacher to provide one-to-one or small group support
  • Getting involved in creative, practical and outdoor learning activities
  • Encouraging positive play and social interaction during break and lunchtime
  • Helping pupils develop confidence, communication and emotional resilience
  • Celebrating achievements and supporting children through any challenges they face
  • Ending the day knowing you've made a real difference in a child's life
