You'll play a key role in maintaining plant performance, supporting production targets, and driving continuous improvement across the site. As Mechanical Engineer, you'll be responsible for:
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across manufacturing equipment and machinery Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults to minimise downtime and maximise operational efficiency Undertaking basic electrical fault finding and supporting electrical repairs where required Completing welding and fabrication work to support breakdown repairs, equipment modifications, and improvement projects Maintaining mechanical systems including bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, motors, hydraulics and pneumatics Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and reduce recurring faults Working closely with production teams to ensure maximum machine availability Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with company standards The experience you'll bring to the team: A recognised engineering qualification such as an Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent Strong mechanical maintenance experience gained within a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment Basic electrical fault-finding experience and confidence working on multi-skilled maintenance tasks Welding and fabrication skills Experience working with mechanical drives, conveyors, pumps, pneumatic and hydraulic systems A proactive approach to fault finding and problem solving Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment And this is what you'll get in return:
