Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £14.18 an hour; this increases to £15.45 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, with the option to work fewer hours (a minimum of 12) if you prefer flexibility.
Customers are at the heart of everything we do. As the face of Tesco on the road, you will deliver packages across the UK, meeting and talking to customers in their homes every day. This role is about more than just driving; it’s about helping others and delivering great service with a smile.
Your work will be physically active, varied, and you will feel like your own boss most of the day. A supporting team of Managers and colleagues will always be available at base when you need assistance.

Responsibilities- Ensure the van and trays used are clean, tidy, and organized.
- Leave the back yard clean, tidy, and clear of rubbish, and pick up litter as you see it.
- Ensure trays are washed as part of the tray wash process.
- Load the van as required, checking the van for roadworthiness.
- Discuss changes to the customer’s order, including short code items and substitutions, offering a refund for anything they are unhappy with.
- Take care of products/deliveries as if they were your own.
- Explain to the customer that substitutions will not incur additional charges.
- Deliver during the customer’s time slot.
- Call the customer before arriving if early.
- Call the store/centre if running 30 or more minutes late.
- Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit and ensure our store provides the best service for customers.
- Show warmth and welcoming interactions with customers and colleagues, taking time to understand each customer and saying ‘Thank you’.
- Respond quickly to changing customer needs and embrace change within your store.
- Be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, integrating home and work for balance.
- Share ideas with your Manager and other colleagues on how to improve our store for customers.
- A UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
- Ability to adhere to the GB Domestic Driving Rules.

Additional InformationWe will only recruit individuals who have passed the school leaver’s age. Candidates must be over 18 if the role requires working before 6:15 am or after 9:45 pm, or if it involves working in the warehouse, batteries, wine and spirits, counters, bakery, or driving roles.
