Your Next OpportunityUnder limited supervision, the Safety Specialist implements and administers all aspects of the corporate environmental, health, and safety (EHS) program and the site‑specific safety program for the assigned area or responsibility.
What You’ll Do- Implement and administer the environmental, health, and safety (EHS) program and site‑specific EHS plans.
- Conduct orientation and basic trainings, continuously educating, coaching, and mentoring employees in classrooms, meetings, or on job walks.
- Perform regular site inspections and observations, engaging with employees, supervisors, and management to promote safe work practices and recognize achievements.
- Document findings, compile information, create detailed reports, analyze data, track progress, and maintain long‑term records.
- Coordinate with clients/owners, project managers, field supervisors, and divisional/regional leadership to ensure successful implementation of the EHS program/plan; represent safety in meetings.
- Begin the shift in the field, coordinate with crews, participate in pre‑task plans, and ensure teams have what they need to work safely.
- Perform and record environmental sampling using tools such as dosimeters, light meters, and multi‑gas meters.
- Coordinate emergency response, provide care for injured employees, conduct incident investigations, compile information and photographs, complete incident reports, conduct incident reviews, track corrective actions, and develop lessons learned for sharing.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental, health, or safety OR high school diploma or equivalent with experience.
- 0–6 months if holding a bachelor’s degree OR 5 years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Some travel may be required.
- General work environment: sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, and pushing; work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
- Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the job site.

- Sitting, standing on hard surfaces or irregular terrain, walking on level or irregular surfaces, climbing ladders and steps, bending, twisting, or pushing may be required. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Work may be indoor or outdoor; climates vary by location and season. Hot, cold, humid, wet conditions and dust on construction sites may occur.
