Pay rate: $20.00/hr
Location InformationThe Amory Terminal on the Tenn‑Tom Waterway offers barge, rail, truck, tug, and fleeting services. Commodities handled include bulk ores, petcoke, steel, lumber, fertilizer, rock, and containers.
DescriptionThe Equipment Operator will handle dry bulk and break-bulk materials with full-service transloading and distribution capabilities. The role requires teamwork, reliability, and fundamental workplace safety and operating principles.
Essential Functions- Maintain regular, dependable attendance and high performance.
- Follow written and verbal directions to complete tasks on schedule.
- Read, write, and communicate in English and understand basic math.
- Learn from directions, observations, and mistakes and apply procedures using good judgment.
- Apply working knowledge of Watco safety and operating principles.
- Complete all applicable documentation, recordkeeping, and daily inventory.
- Bend, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds alone, twist, climb; communicate clearly with team members, vendors, and customers 100% of the time.
- Participate in safety briefings, job briefings, and pass on information from team members, management, or customers.
- Operate in a manner where safety and environment are of the highest importance.
- Climb onto top and underneath railcars to inspect and seal railcars using a checklist.
- Perform structural inspections as required.
- Prepare equipment for product transfer.
- Start, stop, and operate engines/pumps within defined operating parameters.
- Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Work outside the majority of the time and withstand extreme weather conditions.
- Maintain attendance and high performance.
- Work with a team, take direction, follow work rules, and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
- Flexibility: ability to work days, nights, weekends.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Ability to pass required training and testing.
- Wheel loader experience preferred.
Skid steer, excavator, endloader, forklift, power tools, hydraulic equipment, power drills, and basic hand tools (wrench, screwdriver, sockets, measuring tape, etc.).
PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, splash goggles, face shield, gloves, steel‑toed boots, fire‑retardant clothing, full‑face respirator.
