Position Summary
The Department of Psychology invites applications from motivated and research-oriented academicians for the position of  Assistant Professor . The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, conducting impactful research, mentoring students, and actively participating in academic and administrative activities of the department.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Psychology.
Prepare course plans, lesson plans, and instructional materials.
Deliver engaging classroom, laboratory, and experiential learning sessions.
Develop and update curriculum in line with UGC/NEP guidelines.
Assess student performance through examinations, assignments, projects, and continuous evaluation.
Integrate digital learning platforms and innovative teaching methodologies.
Research & Publications
Conduct high-quality research in Psychology.
Publish research papers in Scopus/Web of Science/UGC Care indexed journals.
Present research findings at national and international conferences.
Apply for sponsored research projects and consultancy assignments.
Establish interdisciplinary research collaborations.
Student Mentoring
Mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Supervise dissertations, internships, and research projects.
Provide academic and career guidance.
Encourage student participation in research, seminars, and competitions.
Academic Administration
Participate in departmental meetings and committees.
Assist in accreditation processes (NAAC, NBA, NIRF, etc.).
Organize seminars, workshops, FDPs, conferences, and outreach activities.
Support admissions, examinations, curriculum review, and other institutional initiatives.
Industry & Community Engagement
Build collaborations with hospitals, NGOs, industries, schools, and mental health organizations.
Facilitate internships and placement opportunities.
Promote community mental health awareness and extension activities.
Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualifications
Ph.D. in Psychology / Applied Psychology or a closely related discipline from a recognized university.
Master's degree in Psychology with an excellent academic record.
UGC-NET qualification is preferred where applicable.
Qualifications should be in accordance with UGC regulations.
Experience
Prior teaching experience in higher education is desirable.
Experience in curriculum development and outcome-based education.
Demonstrated research aptitude with quality publications.
Experience in supervising student research projects is an advantage.
