Position Summary
Amity University Punjab invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor – Clinical Psychology (RCI Registered) . The University seeks a committed academician and clinician with expertise in psychological assessment, diagnosis, psychotherapy, teaching, research, and clinical supervision. The selected candidate will contribute to academic excellence while supporting the University's teaching, research, and mental health initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Academic Delivery
Teach undergraduate, postgraduate, and RCI-regulated Clinical Psychology courses.
Deliver lectures, tutorials, seminars, practical sessions, and case discussions.
Develop course plans, teaching materials, and assessment strategies.
Evaluate students through examinations, assignments, practical assessments, and viva voce.
Guide student dissertations, research projects, and internships.
Clinical Training & Supervision
Supervise clinical practicum, internships, and hospital postings.
Train students in psychological assessment, diagnosis, psychotherapy, counselling, and case documentation.
Conduct case conferences, clinical demonstrations, and supervision sessions.
Ensure adherence to Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) guidelines and ethical standards.
Coordinate with hospitals, rehabilitation centres, NGOs, and mental health organizations for clinical training.
Research & Scholarly Activities
Conduct high-quality research in Clinical Psychology and related areas.
Publish research papers in peer-reviewed, UGC-CARE, Scopus, or Web of Science-indexed journals.
Present research at national and international conferences.
Develop research proposals and seek funded projects.
Promote interdisciplinary and collaborative research initiatives.
Student Mentoring
Mentor students academically and professionally.
Provide career guidance and supervision for research and clinical practice.
Encourage participation in conferences, workshops, publications, and community outreach.
Academic & Administrative Responsibilities
Participate in curriculum development as per UGC, NEP, and RCI norms.
Contribute to accreditation and quality assurance activities (NAAC, NIRF, etc.).
Organize workshops, Continuing Rehabilitation Education (CRE) programmes, seminars, and mental health awareness initiatives.
Undertake departmental, institutional, and examination responsibilities.
Essential Qualifications
M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology from an RCI-recognized institution .
Valid Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) Registration (CRR Number) – Mandatory.
Master's degree (M.A./M.Sc.) in Psychology with a strong academic record.
Candidates with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology/Psychology or those pursuing a Ph.D. will be preferred.
Qualifications must comply with applicable UGC and RCI regulations.
Experience
Prior teaching experience in a university or higher education institution is desirable.
Experience in psychological assessment, psychotherapy, and clinical supervision.
Experience working in hospitals, mental health institutions, rehabilitation centres, or counselling settings will be preferred.
Evidence of research publications and conference presentations is desirable.
