Senior Manager / Director Tax Compliance & Reporting | Amsterdam

The tax team consists of experienced professionals working across different areas of taxation and advising a diverse client base. The team combines technical tax expertise with a practical understanding of the commercial and financial context in which its clients operate.

The tax practice is part of an international organization with offices in several regions. Its continued development in the Netherlands has created opportunities for experienced tax professionals to join and help further build the local team in Amsterdam.

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Tax Compliance&
-Reporting Manager or Director in Amsterdam. You will take responsibility for complex client work, contribute to the further development of the practice and work closely with colleagues across the wider organization. You will be the focal point for clients and for setting up the Tax Compliance & Reporting group in the Netherlands. You will be involved in supporting multinational, and very large international clients on Tax Accounting and Reporting matters, as well as with reviewing and preparing complex CIT returns.

The tasks and activities include, among others:

• Responsible for the Tax Compliance function, including the review and filing of Corporate Income Tax Returns.
• Providing advice on IFRS and US GAAP matters, including the valuation of deferred tax assets, tax planning and supporting clients with the calculation of tax provisions on a quarterly or annual basis.
• You support companies with tax accounting matters, including the optimization of operational strategy and organizational design, tax processes and controls, as well as the effectiveness of data systems and automation. You identify key risks and help monitor and strengthen control measures.
• Acting as the primary contact and responsible professional for outsourced tax compliance and tax accounting projects.
• Taking responsibility for the continued development and growth of the tax accounting and compliance offering, including new products and their implementation.
• Contributing to the growth of the existing practice, including the management and recruitment of new team members.
• Although there is already a strong existing base of work, taking initiative and pursuing commercial opportunities to further grow the practice will also form an important part of the role.

We are looking to recruit various roles and positions for this organization. Varying from senior managers ready to make the step to director or partners willing to make a transfer with (part of) their team.

The ideal candidate has completed a tax or financial/accounting education at HBO or WO level. You have at least 8 years of work experience in relevant practice. You are accurate, analytical, and numerically strong. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of the accounting process and possess good organizational and project management skills. Management and commercial skills are essential to this position as well as the comfort to make (final) decisions in the work process.

You have excellent communication skills, in both Dutch and English.
