Senior Cost Manager

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Our client is a leading international construction and property consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-profile projects across the built environment. As part of the continued growth of their European Data Centre team, they are seeking an experienced  Senior Associate Cost Manager  to join their Amsterdam office.

This is an opportunity to take a leading role in the delivery of complex, mission‑critical developments for some of the world's largest technology clients, whilst contributing to the growth and development of an established cost management team.

The Role
Working as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for leading the commercial delivery of major data centre projects from feasibility through to completion. You will provide strategic cost advice to clients, manage project teams and play an active role in developing both people and client relationships.

Alongside project delivery, you will be expected to support the continued development of the cost management team through mentoring, coaching and technical leadership.

Responsibilities

Lead the cost management of large-scale data centre developments throughout the full project lifecycle.

Prepare and review cost plans, estimates, procurement advice and tender documentation.

Deliver accurate commercial reporting, cost control and change management.

Provide strategic commercial advice to clients and project stakeholders.

Lead client meetings and maintain long‑term client relationships through a high standard of service delivery.

Manage, mentor and develop a team of Cost Managers and Assistant Cost Managers.

Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across Europe.

Contribute to business development activities, supporting the continued growth of the Data Centre sector.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a strong background in consultancy cost management together with experience leading teams and delivering technically complex construction projects.

You will ideally possess:

A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.

Extensive consultancy experience within cost management or quantity surveying.

Demonstrable experience managing and developing teams of cost professionals.

Strong commercial and contractual knowledge across the project lifecycle.

Excellent communication and client management skills.

The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Professional membership (MRICS or equivalent) is desirable.

Experience
Applications are welcomed from candidates with experience across complex construction sectors. Previous experience in  Data Centres  would be highly advantageous.
