Department Overview
You will join a major industrial project team, providing HSE leadership throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with project management, contractors, subcontractors, and client representatives, you will ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance across all project activities.
Position Summary
The Senior Project HSE Manager is responsible for leading the project's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) strategy and ensuring compliance with all applicable legislation, client requirements, and industry standards. Acting as the primary HSE representative, you will oversee HSE management systems, lead HSE teams, support contractor performance, and promote a strong safety culture throughout project execution.
Key Responsibilities
HSE Leadership
Develop, implement, and maintain the Project HSE Management System.
Promote a proactive safety culture across all project activities.
Ensure compliance with project HSE procedures, legislation, and client requirements.
Provide HSE leadership and guidance to project teams and contractors.
Project Support & Compliance
Conduct HSE inspections, audits, and site assessments.
Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses, ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented.
Monitor subcontractor HSE performance and compliance.
Identify project risks and develop appropriate mitigation measures.
Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary HSE point of contact for the client and project stakeholders.
Work closely with project management, engineering teams, contractors, and subcontractors.
Prepare HSE reports, performance metrics, and management updates.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across the project.
Function Requirements
Engineering degree or NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent HSE qualification).
Minimum of 10 years' experience in an HSE management role.
Proven experience on large-scale industrial projects valued at over €100 million.
Experience with in EPCI, Oil & Gas, Offshore Wind, Energy, or similar heavy industrial sectors.
Demonstrated experience developing and managing Project HSE Management Systems.
Extensive knowledge of HSE legislation, standards, and best practices.
Experience leading HSE teams and managing subcontractor compliance.
Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
French language skills are highly desirable.
Preferred Experience
Experience working on international EPC/EPCI projects.
Experience on large industrial construction or energy infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with multinational project environments and client-facing roles.
Strong background in safety leadership and continuous improvement.
