The Opportunity  We are currently seeking an experienced  Health & Safety Manager  to join a major  Data Centre construction project in the Netherlands .
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HSE professional with a strong construction background to take a leading role in HSE delivery on a major mission-critical project.
You will be responsible for driving HSE standards across the project, working closely with the project leadership team, client and subcontractors to ensure works are planned and delivered safely and in line with all relevant Dutch and European requirements.

Key Responsibilities   Lead the implementation of the company's Health, Safety and Environmental strategy across the data centre project.
Develop, review and maintain project-specific  Health & Safety Plans, RAMS and site procedures .
Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety tours, identifying hazards and ensuring corrective actions are completed.
Lead accident, incident and near-miss investigations, producing reports and implementing preventative measures.
Promote a positive safety culture through coaching, mentoring and workforce engagement.
Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and health & safety training to employees and subcontractors.
Monitor subcontractor compliance with health and safety requirements and client expectations.
Work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers and Site Managers to ensure safe planning and execution of works.
Review and approve  Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)  prior to works commencing.
Ensure high-risk activities including lifting operations, confined spaces, work at height, hot works and electrical works are carried out safely.
Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, inspections and statutory documentation.
Support client health & safety meetings, audits and compliance reviews.
Monitor emergency preparedness, including fire safety procedures and evacuation plans.
Ensure appropriate PPE standards are maintained across site.
Track HSE performance metrics and prepare weekly and monthly reports for senior management.
Assist with  ISO 45001 and ISO 14001  compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Liaise with regulatory authorities, client representatives and external auditors where required.
Drive behavioural safety initiatives to improve workforce engagement and reduce incidents.
Stay up to date with changes in legislation and industry best practice, particularly within mission-critical and data centre environments.
About You  The successful candidate will ideally have:
NEBOSH Diploma  or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
Membership of  IOSH , with GradIOSH/CMIOSH preferred.
Proven Health & Safety management experience on major construction projects.
Previous experience within  data centres, mission-critical, pharmaceutical or large-scale MEP construction  environments is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of construction health & safety legislation and relevant Dutch/European requirements.
Experience managing subcontractors on fast-paced construction sites.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to influence safe behaviours at all levels of a project.
Strong reporting, auditing and investigation experience.
Full driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
Package    Up to €90,000 gross per year , depending on experience and overall profile.
Accommodation provided  close to the project site.
One return trip home per month.
Choice of  company car with fuel card or car allowance.
