Position Overview
We are currently looking for an experienced Offshore Process Operator to join the operations team on an offshore gas production platform in the Dutch sector. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the production facilities, ensuring that all process systems perform within design parameters while meeting production targets and maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary offshore team, you will play an important role in daily production operations, maintenance support, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the reliable supply of energy while working in a challenging and dynamic offshore environment.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations
Operate process and utility systems in accordance with approved operating procedures and production targets.
Monitor and control plant parameters to ensure safe and optimal production.
Perform plant start-up, shutdown, and line-up activities.
Ensure product specifications remain within operational limits.
Identify, report, and assist in resolving production deviations and operational issues.
Support troubleshooting activities and root cause analyses.
Field & Control Room Operations
Carry out routine field inspections, operational rounds, and equipment readings.
Maintain accurate operational records, shift reports, and electronic logbooks.
Conduct effective shift handovers to ensure operational continuity.
Perform sampling, testing, and reporting of process results.
Verify the correct functioning of critical process equipment and safety systems.
Maintenance Support
Prepare equipment for maintenance activities through isolation, depressurisation, draining, and purging.
Execute Permit-to-Work activities as Performing Authority when required.
Support maintenance teams during planned and corrective maintenance.
Assist with reinstatement, functional testing, and safe return to service of equipment.
HSSE & Compliance
Promote and maintain a strong safety culture at all times.
Comply with offshore regulations, process safety standards, and environmental requirements.
Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and safety meetings.
Report incidents, near misses, and unsafe situations promptly.
Ensure compliance with ATEX requirements and established operational procedures.
Planning & Continuous Improvement
Provide operational input to short- and medium-term planning activities.
Support the safe coordination of simultaneous operations (SIMOPS).
Work closely with offshore and onshore teams to ensure efficient execution of activities.
Identify opportunities to improve plant performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
Contribute to modification projects, Management of Change (MOC) activities, and operational excellence initiatives.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for an experienced offshore professional with a strong technical background and a proactive, safety-conscious mindset. You are comfortable working independently as well as within a close-knit offshore team and are committed to maintaining high operational standards.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Technical education (MTS or equivalent) in Process Technology, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years' offshore experience on production platforms or comparable process installations.
Experience operating both field and panel systems within a complex oil and/or gas production environment.
Excellent command of both Dutch and English.
Resident in the Netherlands.
Preferred Certifications
NOGEPA 0.5 Offshore Survival including HUET.
NOGEPA 0.8 – H₂S Introduction
NOGEPA 1.1 – Helicopter Landing Officer
NOGEPA 1.4 – Gas Measurement
NOGEPA 1.9 – Banksman or NOGEPA 1.2 – Crane Operator Offshore
NOGEPA 2.2 – Offshore First Aid
NOGEPA 2.6 – Offshore Fire-Fighting & Rescue Team Member
Level 5b (LSA)
Valid NOGEPA Medical Examination.
Work Permit Training
Completed Plusport Training (Practical & Theoretical).
VOP & ATEX Introduction
Personal Skills
Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Analytical and solution-oriented approach to operational challenges.
Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
