Role Overview Represent the project company offshore during Pre-Lay Grapnel Run (PLGR) and de-trenching grapnel operations, ensuring activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved procedures, project specifications, and HSE requirements. Monitor route clearance activities ahead of subsea cable installation, reducing installation risks and supporting successful cable lay operations.
Key Responsibilities Monitor contractor compliance with project HSE requirements, including the Project HSE Plan and Emergency Response Plan.
Oversee PLGR and de-trenching activities, ensuring operations are conducted in line with approved method statements, risk assessments, permits, route drawings, and project specifications.
Verify route clearance activities follow approved cable routes, operational tolerances, navigation controls, and agreed work parameters.
Prepare, review, and distribute Daily Progress Reports (DPRs) via Spinergie, including operational progress, downtime, equipment issues, and weather impacts.
Witness key offshore activities, including equipment inspections, grapnel deployment and recovery, towing operations, debris management, and route clearance verification.
Participate in safety walks, HS&E inspections, incident reporting, investigations, quality walkdowns, progress monitoring, and non-conformance management.
Review offshore documentation, vessel logs, survey and navigation records, debris logs, and operational reports to ensure compliance and accurate project records.
Key Requirements Previous experience in offshore construction, subsea cable installation, PLGR operations, or offshore renewable energy projects.
Strong understanding of offshore HSE standards, quality requirements, and contractor management.
Ability to interpret technical documentation, procedures, route drawings, permits, and project specifications.
Experience preparing operational reports and monitoring offshore project progress.
Excellent communication, observation, and stakeholder management skills.
Required Certifications GWO Training: Sea Survival, Working at Height, First Aid, Fire Awareness, and Manual Handling.
OPITO: HUET & CA-EBS.
Valid offshore medical certificate and fitness-to-work certification in accordance with applicable regulations.
Must have right to work in EU and be able to work freelance via your own company.
