The Country Manager Netherlands
, based in Amsterdam and operating within our European management structure, plays a pivotal role in driving the growth and long‑term success of our renewable energy business in the Dutch market. This position is responsible for leading business development, project acquisition, stakeholder management, and strategic partnerships across utility‑scale solar PV, Wind and BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) projects.
The role requires a commercially driven professional with strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship management skills, as well as a deep understanding of the Dutch renewable energy market, regulatory environment, and energy transition landscape.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES IN YOUR ROLE- Drive the growth of CHINT Solar’s development pipeline in the Netherlands through project origination, acquisitions, M&A opportunities, strategic partnerships and market expansion.
- Lead the development of renewable and battery energy storage (BESS) projects from origination through permitting and ready‑to‑build status.
- Identify and pursue other services business, namely powerplant repowering or upselling opportunities (by integrating battery storage solutions into existing and new renewable energy projects) to enhance project value and optimize grid utilization.
- Identify, evaluate and execute project, portfolio and company acquisition opportunities, including M&A transactions, co‑development partnerships and strategic investments.
- Develop strategies to create growth and new business opportunities considering the overall Chint Group capabilities in the Dutch market
- Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, developers, municipalities, grid operators, investors and other key stakeholders.
- Lead commercial negotiations, due diligence processes and transaction activities to support sustainable business growth and expansion.
- Monitor market developments, regulatory changes and emerging trends within the renewables, energy storage and AI/Data‑Centres sectors and translate them into new business opportunities.
- Represent the Company in the Dutch energy market and contribute to the execution of the long‑term country strategy.
- You are holder of a business degree, bachelor’s or master’s degree or a similar education background in the related industry
- You have at least 5 years’ work experience within the industry.
- You are a real go-getter, accurate, organizationally strong, independent and entrepreneurial.
- You can work well independently, but you are also a strong team player.
- Excellent communication and hands‑on mentality skills.
- Strong understanding of the Dutch energy market.
- Experience in Business development across the energy sector.
- Thorough understanding of Dutch permitting and planning processes.
- Familiarity with grid congestion challenges and grid connection procedures.
- Experience in commercial negotiations, acquisitions and partnership management.
- Experience in the service business sector
- Strong stakeholder management skills with public and private sector counterparts.
- Fluency in Dutch and English.
