Job Description & How to Apply Below

plane ground is looking for an Airport Master Planner who has an affinity with the future of airports.

Do you want to be a forerunner in sustainable and future-proof airports, and do you dare to think in a new and unconventional way? If you are looking to explore the aviation world and contribute to its future, then join us at plane ground.

Airports must be equipped with today's newest technology to make them safer, more efficient and more sustainable to meet the quality goals, standards and given assets to ensure they are impactfully future-oriented. As Airport Master Planner, you join our team of experts to lead and manage the design and development of airport projects ensuring they meet the highest standards and expectations.

Within our projects, you will work closely with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to understand their needs and to get to the heart of their requirements. You’ll be responsible for developing the right solution, not just any solution – even if that means trying something new and resisting well-trodden paths.

Profile

As Airport Master Planner you can think through complex airport problems and resiliency planning strategies. You utilise experience and knowledge of airport master planning to proactively contribute to the success of projects at a diversity of scales and contexts through analysis and visualization of specific contexts. You have multidisciplinary knowledge and experience in the fields of airport infrastructure, operations, commerce, and sustainability.

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in architecture, civil engineering, or other relevant technical background.
  • Detailed understanding of all aspects of airport master planning, aviation system planning, and airport layout plan preparation.
  • Analytical and spatial planning skills.
  • Five to ten years of experience in airport master planning, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects.
  • Knowledge of the industry standards and regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills (including good presentation and storytelling skills).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to achieve the set goals.
  • A passion for creativity, digitalization, and sustainability.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic and with an entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Accountability and a willingness to take on responsibilities within a team environment.
  • Exemplary time management and organizational skills to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills in English, as well as in German or Dutch.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate on the development of airport design and planning throughout appropriate phases of the project.
  • Support environmental scientists, engineers, architects, and financial professionals in the development of airport infrastructure. Work will include preparing airport master plans; terminal, airfield, and landside area studies; land use compatibility analyses; and sustainability plans.
  • Write clear design narrative, technical memorandum, and summary reports.
  • Explore innovative solutions for performative site design and infrastructural systems.
  • Elaboration and implementation of new (sustainability/innovation driven) methodologies for airport development decision making.
  • Collaborate on preparation of proposals, presentations, schedules, maps, planning reports and processing of implementation documentation.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and successful delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure their satisfaction and loyalty.
What we offer
  • Exciting international projects in the airport planning and consultancy world.
  • Co-creating the aviation and airports of tomorrow.
