Senior Manager PLB Compliance – Environmental Compliance  The (Senior) Manager Environmental Compliance plays a critical role in ensuring adherence to environmental regulations related to labeling and packaging, with a strong focus on compliance with the Green Deal, including the Circular Economy Action Plan and ESPR. This position is responsible for overseeing Supply Chain Traceability requirements, managing packaging regulatory obligations, and guiding teams through regulatory changes.

Additionally, the role involves mitigating compliance risks, driving environmental impact reduction, and preparing for future regulatory developments.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Compliance   Ensure compliance with environmental regulations across the IICE/IIC supply chain, including labeling, packaging, and waste management.
Drive readiness for circular economy requirements and monitor European environmental regulations.
Develop and implement compliance methodologies and monitoring systems.
Lead initiatives to enhance awareness of environmental regulations.
Guide teams in implementing compliance measures across energy, emissions, water, waste, and chemicals.
Support impact assessments and mitigation strategies.
Advise suppliers on compliance in key areas like wastewater management and emissions control.
Optimize packaging solutions and integrate circular economy principles.
Establish frameworks for improving product circularity and recycled content.
Stakeholder Engagement & Training   Train suppliers and internal teams on environmental regulations and best practices.
Build relationships with regulatory bodies, industry groups, and sustainability networks.
Support cross-functional teams in executing environmental initiatives.
Conduct compliance risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
Maintain documentation, monitoring, and reporting systems.
Track and report on environmental performance metrics.
Skills/Knowledge  Compliance specific   Extensive knowledge of the EU Environmental Legislative Train, corresponding national laws and their applicability for the Sporting Goods Industry
In-depth understanding of labeling and packaging regulations for both primary and secondary packaging
Comprehensive knowledge of waste management regulations and circular economy principles
Expertise in environmental compliance management systems and reporting frameworks
Strong understanding of product lifecycle assessment and sustainability metrics
Proficiency in environmental impact assessment and risk management
Knowledge of sustainability certification standards and eco-labeling requirements
Understanding of chemical safety regulations and restricted substance lists
General   Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
Strong project management and organizational skills
Audience specific communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to translate complex regulations into practical business solutions
Experience in guiding cross-functional teams
Strong presentation and reporting skills
Business acumen with focus on sustainability and operational efficiency
Good commercial understanding to evaluate potential impact of compliance matters on the INTERSPORT Group’s business
Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional EU languages is an asset.
