About the role
AAK is seeking to appoint a Manager Engineering to join the oils and fats industry area, reporting directly to the site director.
The key purpose of this role is to take responsibility for all aspects of engineering for AAK Netherlands. This includes the development and execution of the strategic Capex plan and the optimization of project management in general for both sites Zaandijk & Rotterdam. Your office base will be site Zaandijk where also your engineering team is based. As an engineering manager, you are a member of the site management team.
Responsibilities
As Engineering Manager your main tasks and responsibilities will be:
Lead, coach, and develop the engineering department with two project leaders and a process engineer.
Develop and execute the strategic Capex plan for site Zaandijk balancing priorities across HSE (including compliance), Food Safety, Improvements (cost reduction and yield improvements), and maintenance/reliability. You will also oversee the Rotterdam capex plan and coach and advise the local team in the field of engineering.
Coordinate and support the annual capex plan for site balancing priorities across HSE (including compliance), Food Safety, Improvements (cost reduction and yield improvements), and maintenance/reliability.
Ensure projects are passed through the structured Stage and Gate process.
Collaborate with other AAK sites, AAK global engineering, and external associations to ensure best practices are being used and adopted.
Establish engineering standards and ensure they are used and included in supplier proposals/negotiations.
Review the skillset of the project team and set the balance between in-house and external experts.
Ensure the Project team has clear targets linked to business needs and compliance requirements.
Use KPIs to drive performance across Projects and M+R.
Ensure all requirements of Food Safety/Quality and Health Safety & Environment are met.
About you
To be successful in the role, you need to have a minimum of 7 years of technical experience, with 10 years at a managerial level required.

Degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering;
Food Safety Level 3 (desirable);
Engineering-related Health and Safety, design and project management;
Project Stage and Gate Process;
Maintenance management;
