Global Packaging Sustainability Expert

We are looking for a seasoned Packaging Expert to own and drive our global packaging sustainability agenda, aligning with PPWR, EPR, circular economy and other relevant legislation.

• Stay up to date with packaging legislation in different countries, translate legislative complexity into clear strategy, ensuring timely compliance.
• Lead end-to-end PPWR compliance program: monitor and interpret upcoming implementing acts, translate them into internal readiness plans, engage with cross-functional teams to ensure timely implementation.
• Conduct compliance assessments across the full packaging portfolio (primary, secondary, tertiary, service packaging) and maintain a compliance status tracker.
• Track EPR legislative developments in different countries and ensure timely packaging reporting preparation.
• Drive packaging redesign initiatives to achieve sustainability targets, legislation compliance and minimize EPR fee exposure.
• Provide expertise and guidance to different teams on all the above topics.
• Benchmark Signify’s practices against external peers and industry standards.

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in different fields of packaging design & implementation.
• A strong background in packaging sustainability, regulatory compliance, or a related field.
• Deep working knowledge of PPWR, EPR and sustainability strategies.
• Strong communication abilities to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, and collaborate with multicultural, cross-functional teams.
• A proactive, forward-thinking mindset + Fluent English.
• Program management skills, ability to combine complex topics and translate them into a clear plan.
