Job Description & How to Apply Below
As Engineering Manager in House of Trading, you'll lead the team that sits at the intersection of electricity markets and algorithmic trading - the people, quants, and data scientists building the systems that balance the grid in real time. You'll be accountable for three things, and they reinforce each other: the people in your team, the delivery of your area, and the technology it runs on.
What you'll do
People - Run the full management cycle for engineers in House of Trading, hiring, onboarding, performance, and development. Coach people at all levels and build a team where different perspectives and ways of thinking are genuinely welcomed.
Delivery - Help the team ship with quality. Partner closely with the Trading leads and engineers to keep priorities clear and the team moving. Balance short‑term delivery with long‑term sustainability, and represent the team in cross‑functional forums.
Technology - Stay close to what matters. Keep a clear picture of the technical health of the area: architecture, quality, and risk. Work with the Staff Engineer to set technical direction and connect it to business outcomes. Ensure the stability of the trading platform, and know when to put reliability before new features.
Lead the agentic transition - Help engineers shift their focus from writing code to directing, reviewing, and owning the output of agents. Work with Staff Engineers to build team practices for quality, oversight, and good engineering judgment in an agentic world.
What we're looking for
Experience leading people - You have a real track record of developing engineers through career growth, honest feedback, and building teams where people feel safe to take risks and speak up.
Energy market domain fluency - You thrive at the intersection of algorithmic trading and electricity market physics. Whether you come from Fin Tech or Energy, you have a deep understanding of how software interacts with volatile markets and physical constraints.
Technical fluency - You have a strong engineering background and stay close enough to architecture, quality, and trade‑offs to make good calls. You know how to hold the bar without needing to be the deepest technical voice in the room.
Curiosity about agentic engineering - You're excited about leading a team through the shift toward agents writing and shipping code, and you have a point of view on what good human oversight and engineering judgment look like in that world.
Stakeholder communication - You adapt your language and message depending on who's in the room, whether that's engineers or senior leadership.
A growth mindset - You treat setbacks as information, not failure.
