The role
As an Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for the engineering activities related to specialised yacht transport projects. You will assess whether transport requests are technically feasible, taking into account stability, load spreading, lifting possibilities and securing methods.
You will work closely with Project Managers, Loadmasters and other operational colleagues to support projects from an engineering perspective. Your goal is to help develop transport solutions that are safe, cost-effective and efficient.
In this role, you can expect to deal with:
Limited or incomplete technical specifications of the cargo
A wide variety of materials, including wood, FRP, GRP, aluminium and steel
Complex transport solutions involving lifting, lashing, securing and support systems
Possible involvement in R&D projects related to yacht transport
Your profile
We are looking for someone who has:
A higher professional education degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
At least two years of relevant work experience
Experience with heavy lifting operations, cranes, LO-LO operations and/or semi‑submersible vessels is considered an advantage
Experience with yacht builders, yacht design or yacht engineering is considered an advantage
Experience working with AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D, Solid Works and FEMAP
A flexible, solution-oriented and accurate working style
Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English, verbally and in writing
