What you’ll do
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, and optimize our advanced laser systems at customer sites. You will be a critical link between our innovative technology and client operations, ensuring smooth implementation and ongoing success of our solutions. This role is ideal for a hands‑on problem‑solver with strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a desire to work at the forefront of optical innovation.
Sr. Field Service Engineer
Lead the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of in Phocal’s optical laser marking systems at customer facilities.
Provide on‑site and remote technical support to diagnose and resolve issues, ensuring minimal downtime and exceptional customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to provide feedback on product performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Train customer personnel on the operation and maintenance of in Phocal systems.
Develop and maintain detailed service documentation, including installation reports, maintenance logs, and troubleshooting guides.
Support sales and project management teams by conducting pre‑sales assessments and advising on technical feasibility.
Manage service projects independently, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, fostering strong relationships and representing in Phocal’s commitment to innovation and reliability.
You
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field) or equivalent experience.
5+ years of hands‑on experience in field service engineering, preferably with laser systems, optics, or complex industrial machinery.
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills with a methodical approach to resolving technical issues.
Proficiency in reading schematics, technical drawings, and software interfaces.
Excellent communication and customer‑facing skills with the ability to train and support non‑technical users.
Ability to work independently, manage service projects, and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced startup environment.
Willingness to travel frequently (domestic and international, as needed) and adapt to varied working conditions.
Familiarity with safety standards and protocols for laser and industrial equipment (advantageous).
