Position: Vialign Mechatronics / Integration Engineer
Vialign is an Eindhoven-based deep-tech startup building next-generation displacement sensors for semiconductor manufacturing. We are looking for a hands‑on Mechatronics / Integration Engineer to lead the physical integration and qualification of next‑generation precision sensor technology for semiconductor applications.

You will play a critical role in bridging advanced sensor hardware with customer equipment such as wafer stages, lithography systems, advanced packaging and high‑end metrology platforms. This position combines precision mechanics, thermal and vibration engineering, cleanroom integration, and hands‑on customer qualification work.

About the role
As Mechatronics / Integration Engineer you will:

Translate customer requirements into robust, scalable product solutions.

Define and analyse the mechanical and thermal architecture of the sensor module — mounting, housings, tolerance stacking, thermal paths, and vibration isolation — for sub‑nanometer stability.

Own physical integration of the sensor with customer equipment (wafer stages, bonders, lithography tools), including interface definition, alignment procedures, and acceptance criteria.

Lead on‑site qualification testing at customer fabs: setup, characterization, debug, and sign‑off.

Define and manage cleanroom‑grade manufacturing, assembly, and calibration procedures.

Who you are
You have a background in Precision Mechanics, Thermal & Vibration Engineering, and Customer‑Equipment Integration.

3+ years in semiconductor equipment integration or a comparable precision domain (semicon ecosystem, bonding, lithography, or high‑end metrology). TRL 3–8 scaling experience is a major plus.

You are proficient in:

Precision mechanics: strong hands‑on background in opto‑mechanical or high‑precision mechanical design, tolerance stacking, and GD&T.

Thermal & vibration: practical experience with thermal management and vibration isolation at sub‑nm scale (FEA tooling, modal analysis, or comparable).

Cleanroom & semiconductor standards: familiarity with cleanroom‑grade design rules, contamination control, and equipment integration practice in a fab environment.

Integration mindset: comfortable owning a module end‑to‑end through prototype, qualification, and customer acceptance, including travel to customer sites.

Entrepreneurial drive: willingness to wear many hats in a startup environment.

English, both written and spoken.
