Process Engineer

Position:
Process Engineer at Ketjen Corporation in Amsterdam. This role has responsibility for process engineering aspects of pre‑projects, project implementation, and commissioning & start‑up in relation to change and expansion projects for all production facilities on site. The position is in‑office and located in Amsterdam.
Responsibilities   Lead a small project team in the pre‑project phase, responsible for quality, planning, and timely delivery.
Perform process studies, basic process engineering tasks during pre‑projects, and detailed process engineering tasks during project implementation.
Develop and execute Start‑up and Commissioning Plans (CSU) in the project execution phase, bringing the project to the operation phase.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide guidance and advice to peers.
Initiate and develop project scope in the early development stages, taking ownership of the business delivery aspects of the project.
Qualifications   Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline and at least 3 years of engineering experience; a Master’s degree and 5 years of experience are preferred.
Specialized knowledge and experience in process design, including mass and heat balance calculations, PFDs and PID development, PHA/EHA, PSV design, and CSU.
Excellent written and spoken English skills;
Dutch is preferred.
Proven project management experience leading a team during the front‑end engineering phase.
Knowledge of research methods, quality, safety, and environmental guidelines.
Agility, results‑driven and outcome‑focused mindset with data‑based decision making, problem solving, prioritization, and risk‑based management skills.
Self‑steering and proactive in shared risk‑taking.
