As an Outfitting Engineer, you will be responsible for the engineering of technically demanding outfitting parts on high-end custom superyachts. You will work across design, engineering, production, and suppliers to make sure each item is feasible, buildable, compliant, and delivered to the required quality level.
This role is available both as a permanent employment position and as a freelance assignment.
Where You’ll WorkYou will work in a specialist engineering office connected to a shipyard, focused on custom superyachts over 100 metres.
You will be part of a project-driven engineering team, working closely with lead engineers, project engineers, production, purchasing, and external suppliers.
What You’ll Be Working OnYour focus will be on outfitting scope for large superyacht projects. This can include exterior outfitting elements such as railings, flagpoles, stairs, jacuzzi and pool outfitting, and other detailed components that must be engineered with care.
You will be involved from an early project stage, giving input on technical feasibility, manufacturability, supplier choices, and compliance with project requirements. You will also help maintain standards, best practices, and lessons learned across projects.
What You’ll Do- Develop and refine detailed engineering designs, 3D models and technical drawings.
- Take responsibility for outfitting scope items across multiple yacht projects.
- Review technical feasibility, manufacturability and buildability.
- Ensure designs comply with Class, Flag, internal standards and project specifications.
- Coordinate design input with suppliers, subcontractors and other external parties.
- Work closely with senior engineers, production teams, purchasing and project leads.
- Support supplier selection and technical discussions during the purchasing process.
- Keep track of progress, status and technical risks within your scope.
- Contribute to cost-saving ideas and smarter engineering solutions.
- Use lessons learned from engineering, production, refit, services and suppliers to improve future work.
- 5+ years of experience in yacht building, shipbuilding or a related maritime engineering environment.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Experience with outfitting engineering, detailed components or exterior-related yacht systems.
- Knowledge of manufacturability, production techniques and technical feasibility.
- Familiarity with Class and Flag regulations.
- Experience with engineering software such as Siemens NX, Cadmatic or relevant PLM systems.
- Good communication skills in English.
- A practical engineering mindset and the ability to work with project teams, suppliers and production.

You will work in Rødbyhavn, Denmark, on a major international marine infrastructure project. The project environment is practical, technical, and collaborative, with short decision lines and a team-oriented way of working. The role can be based full-time in Denmark or arranged in a 4-2 rotation.
