Job Description & How to Apply Below
Based in Amsterdam, this fast-growing deep-tech company is building breakthrough semiconductor solutions at the intersection of advanced networking, cybersecurity and high-performance SoC design.
As an FPGA Engineer , you will play a key role in transforming complex system requirements into robust, high-performance FPGA implementations. Working closely with hardware and software engineers, you will contribute across the complete development cycle—from architecture and RTL design through simulation, integration, timing optimisation and lab validation.
The Role
You will be responsible for developing FPGA solutions that support advanced networking and security products. This is a hands‑on engineering position offering significant technical ownership and the opportunity to influence the architecture of a groundbreaking semiconductor product.
Your responsibilities will include:
Designing and implementing FPGA logic from system-level specifications.
Developing and maintaining FPGA architecture documentation, block diagrams, constraints and pin assignments.
Integrating high-speed interfaces and technologies including networking interfaces, memory, PCIe and high-speed Ser Des.
Developing and verifying FPGA functionality using VHDL, Verilog or System Verilog.
Running simulations and carrying out hands‑on testing, debugging and validation in laboratory environments.
Performing timing analysis, design optimisation and FPGA resource management to achieve demanding performance targets.
Working closely with hardware and software teams to ensure smooth system-level integration.
Contributing to technical design reviews and recommending improvements to FPGA architectures and development methodologies.
What We're Looking For
You should bring strong technical expertise in FPGA development combined with a practical, problem‑solving approach. The ideal candidate will have:
5+ years of professional experience in FPGA design and implementation.
Strong hands‑on experience with Xilinx FPGAs and development environments such as Vivado and Vitis.
Solid knowledge of digital design principles, timing constraints and high-speed interfaces.
Experience with VHDL, Verilog and/or System Verilog.
Practical experience testing, debugging and validating FPGA designs using both simulation and lab equipment.
Familiarity with hardware/software integration, ideally within networking, cybersecurity or other high-performance embedded systems.
The ability to translate complex system requirements into efficient and reliable FPGA implementations.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Why Join?
This is an opportunity to join an ambitious, fast‑scaling semiconductor company working at the forefront of secure and high-performance SoC technology. You will have genuine influence over the development of a breakthrough product while working alongside a highly technical team tackling challenging problems in FPGA design, networking and semiconductor security.
If you're an experienced FPGA Engineer motivated by complex technical challenges and the opportunity to help shape a ground‑breaking semiconductor product, apply now or contact for more information.
