Your role at a glance

Our data centre campus in the Netherlands is currently being expanded by two additional buildings. Once completed, the campus will comprise four data centre buildings. In parallel, the local Operations and Maintenance team is being expanded.

The Senior Manager, Critical Facilities Operations and Maintenance (Data Center Site Manager (mfd)) is responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the site’s critical infrastructure. The role includes technical and operational leadership, people management, maintenance planning and support for construction, commissioning and equipment replacement activities in a live data centre environment.

What we are looking for Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or a comparable technical qualification.

Extensive professional experience in data centres, critical infrastructure or other mission-critical operational environments.

Proven leadership and people management experience within Critical Facilities, Data Centre Operations, Engineering or Maintenance.

Strong technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical infrastructure, including UPS systems, generators, switch gear, cooling systems, controls and power distribution.

Demonstrated experience in critical maintenance, preventive and predictive maintenance, commissioning, capacity planning and incident prevention.

Experience supporting new-build and expansion projects as well as replacing or upgrading technical equipment within an operational data centre.

Ability to work effectively with national and international teams, customers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors and technical service providers.

Strong understanding of operational safety, risk management, regulatory compliance, Lockout/Tagout procedures and arc-flash protection.

Business-fluent English and conversational Dutch, together with effective communication and stakeholder management skills.

Unrestricted right to work in the Netherlands and flexibility to participate in an on-call rotation and planned critical maintenance windows.

What will you do?

Take responsibility for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the site’s critical data centre infrastructure.

Provide technical leadership across electrical, mechanical, cooling, water treatment and integrated control systems.

Manage daily operations and critical maintenance activities involving UPS systems, generators, switch gear, chillers and power distribution systems.

Develop, manage and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance programmes to reduce operational risks and prevent customer-impacting outages.

Maintain the availability of critical systems during maintenance, commissioning, equipment replacement and other technical work in a live operational environment.

Support current new-build and campus expansion projects in collaboration with Construction Management, consultants, contractors and subcontractors.

Manage the replacement, upgrade and integration of technical equipment during ongoing operations, including coordination with affected customers.

Oversee commissioning, system testing, operational readiness and capacity planning for new or modified infrastructure.

Manage operational budgets, workforce planning, performance objectives, efficiency measures and continuous improvement activities.

Lead, coach and develop the Operations and Maintenance teams while maintaining a safety-focused, process-driven and customer-oriented working environment.
