Role Description
The Drilling Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Amsterdam, responsible for planning, designing, and optimizing drilling operations for onshore oil and gas wells. Day-to-day tasks include preparing well plans, organizing drilling programs, performing technical calculations, and collaborating with geology, reservoir, and operations teams to ensure safe and efficient drilling. The role involves monitoring drilling performance, analyzing drilling data, and recommending improvements to reduce non-productive time and enhance well integrity.

The Drilling Engineer will participate in risk assessments, contribute to well control and safety procedures, and support field teams with technical guidance and troubleshooting. The position also includes preparing reports, maintaining documentation, and ensuring compliance with company standards and applicable regulations.

Qualifications

Strong foundation in Petroleum Engineering and Petroleum operations, with the ability to apply engineering principles to onshore drilling projects.

Proficiency in Drilling and Drilling Engineering, including well design, drilling fluids, directional drilling, and wellbore stability analysis.

Experience in Well Planning, including trajectory design, casing and cementing programs, and cost estimating for drilling operations.

Bachelor's degree or higher in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, drilling software tools, and well planning applications.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical data and make sound operational recommendations.

Effective communication and teamwork skills, with experience collaborating with multidisciplinary field and office teams.

Commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Relevant industry experience in drilling operations; onshore or similar field experience is an advantage.
