Project Engineer, Process Engineer

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Project Engineer to join a large-scale manufacturing site in Amsterdam, Netherlands. You'll take ownership of investment and improvement projects from concept through to execution, working closely with production, maintenance, suppliers and contractors.

Projects can range from equipment upgrades and process improvements to safety, efficiency and sustainability initiatives, giving you broad exposure across engineering disciplines while allowing you to make a visible contribution to the site's future development.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys technical problem-solving, project ownership, and working closely with cross-functional stakeholders in a complex manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead engineering projects from concept through to completion.

Develop project scopes, investment proposals, budgets, and timelines.

Create technical specifications, layouts, equipment requirements, and design documentation.

Coordinate multidisciplinary projects across process, mechanical, and utility systems.

Manage external suppliers, contractors, and engineering partners.

Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, EHS, Procurement, and Leadership teams.

Oversee installation, commissioning, start-up, and handover activities.

Maintain accurate project documentation and capture lessons learned for future projects.

Candidate Profile:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.

Minimum 5 years of experience delivering engineering or capital projects within manufacturing, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical, or process industries.

Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English.

Experience in the Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Chemical manufacturing industries is preferred

Any other processing industry will be considered
